The big change!! (Post #1 of 3)

It was time for a drastic change. Today I went to get my hair cut, just a slight cut about 5" or so, well we all know how that goes, instead I ended up cutting off about 8" and I LOVE IT!! Kristi Thornock (well no longer Thornock) cut it for me and she did such a great job! This weekend we are coloring it so once it is all finally done I will post the final pictures. I can't remember ever having my hair this short before, but I sure do like it a lot. I'm sure I will have lots of fun figuring out new hairstyles!  (and that is our beautiful family Christmas Tree in the background, Mom decorated it so well).

Jamison Hughes (Post #2 of 3)

Here is an update on Jamison and some newer pictures. He will be six months old on December 30. He is the happiest baby ever!!  He loves his family so much and he is so cute with them. Next month the adoption should be finalized and then he will be able to be sealed to his family. I am so excited for him. I love him so much. He has the biggest blue eyes ever and is so sweet. I hope you enjoy the pictures as much as I do!

My bestest little buddie!! (Post #3 0f 3)

Okay so I know bestest isn't a word, but in Jaiden's case, anything goes. This is my little buddie Jaiden. He is my best friend Robin's little boy (some of you have met him before). Well a few weeks ago he was over hanging out with me and I decided to have an ice cream cone, well Jaiden wanted some too. Well that is how it turned out.....He is so so cute!!

Something New

Yesterday, for no apparent reason, I decided that I would start writing a novel, and then after the first two pages, I changed it to a short story. Of course it is a romance story, and right now there isn't a whole lot going on in the story, but it was a way for me to get some of the emotional stress out. I got the idea for a short story from Laura, since she is such an amazing writer, I thought I could see how well I can do. We'll see how it goes from here. It has been such a long time since I have posted anything that I thought it was about time to just put something random in there. Jeff is always telling me to just write whatever, so this was a "whatever writing." Thanks Jeff :) Well I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday, I sure did with all of my family, and I am so excited to announce that there is only ONE WEEK left in school!!  Yay!

New Hair Do

Okay, so on Saturday I dyed my hair. I'm not sure if I like it yet or not. Here are some photos, it would really be helpful to have some opinions of what others think. Should I keep the blond how it is or should I do a light brown? I know this is of really no importance to anyone, but I don't want to walk around looking ridiculous. If you could help that would be great. Thanks!

LIGHT BRIGHT DANCE

So this weekend we had our light bright dance, it was so much fun!!  My friends Clarissa and Brittany came down to go with me, it was a blast!!!  If you've never been to a paint dance then I definitely would recommend it. Here are so photos. . . hope you enjoy!!
This is Claire and me all painted out!!

And Brittany and me!!

And all three of us, how cute!

The long shot, surprisingly I don't have that much paint on me, or at least not that you can tell.

And these are some of my roommates and other people in my dorm (left to right) Shaylene, my room roommate; Jamin, friend from across the hall; Sam, one of my roommates; Barbara, roommate; Joel, Barbara's boyfriend; Kelly, she lives next door; and then Me!!

It was a really fun weekend.

Serenity or at least momentarily

I love this picture. I find it absolutely gorgeous and peaceful. In my computer literacy class that I am taking, my most recent assignment was that we had to find a picture of a sunset and in an email attach the file and email it to my teacher. Super duper hard! Not really, anyway this is the picture that I found. I love it! I looked at few others by the same photographer and they all have the same feelings and essence to them. I just needed something like this photo right at this particular moment in my hectic and stressed life and this photo did that for me. I encourage however else needs some peace and calming to look up his website. The website is www.hickerphoto.com. . . .enjoy!!

I still love taking pictures myself. This is one picture that I took back in March when I went to San Francisco. I hope one day my pictures will be out there and people will feel the same emotions about my photos as I feel about some of Rolf's. I just wanted to share that!

So this past weekend I went to Arches for a fun trip. I was planning on taking a lot of pictures but with my luck it started pouring shortly after I got there and rained for the rest of the time I was there. I still went hiking which was very fun especially with the rain!

This is a picture of Double Arch. I love this arch it is so cool, especially because you can climb up to it. I tried to fit it all in but it is extremely difficult.

It started raining at Double Arch. The past three times I have been there it rained once I went to that Arch, which is a little strange. So if you want rain then go to Double Arch.

This Arch is called Turret Arch, it is over by the Windows Arches. I think it is cool.

And these are the beautiful puffy white clouds, this is what they looked like right before the rain came to where I was. I thought they were very pretty.

This is just a picture of it raining a few miles away, and then a few minutes later it all came to where I was.

And finally, this is my friend Mr. Grasshopper. I was stopped at the gas station and saw something jump up in front of my windshield but I wasn't sure what it was so I just ignored it. Well a few seconds later as I was driving down the road this is what I saw. This was literally one of the biggest grasshoppers I have ever seen and I thought he was so pretty too, so I just had to take a picture to show everyone. He rode with me for a few miles on the windshield wiper and then I pulled over to try to take a better picture and when I did he jumped off. It was bizarre but really cool too. I like my new friend Mr. Grasshopper.  :)

Okay so after over a month of not posting anything, I've decided its time.  So last Saturday I made my way to school down here at the College of Eastern Utah in Price.  I really like all of my roommates and classes so far. I decided to take some pictures of my dorm room so you can all see.  :)

This is my bed.  It is so comfy. Mom and Dad let me take some memory foam. So far so good!
This is my desk where all the studying is done.
And another picture of my bed and slightly decorated wall.
Now this is my packed-to-the-max closet. My side is on the left, I have a whole lot more clothes than I was thinking I did when I packed.
And the latest of me, the college girl!!  FINALLY!!
I am so excited to finally be away at college and having the experience. I will try to keep updating my blog when I find the time. I love you all!

Jamison Hughes (Henderson) Parker

JAMISON HUGHES

Born: June 30, 2008
Time: 9:44pm
Weight: 8 lbs 4 oz
Length: 21 inches

He is so precious. I was in labor a little over 10 hours, but everything went well. I can't even begin to explain the joy and love I feel for this handsome baby boy. I love him so very very much! Those three days in the hospital, have been the greatest days of my life, I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to spend those three magical days with my baby as his mommy. I want to thank everyone for their prayers, love, and support. I also want to thank all of my family for being there with me during this bittersweet time and for all of their love and support. I am so grateful to be a mother and to share that blessed gift of motherhood with a very special woman who I know is Jamison's earthly mother and will love him and take amazing care of him. I am so grateful for the spirit, our Heavenly Father, and our Savior and his sacrifice. I love my little Jamison so much, and I will always keep him in my thoughts, prayers, and heart.

blogs!

Okay so I've decided to join the club and start a blog of my own!!! I am excited to try to keep everyone updated with the happenings in my life, but I'm not going to make any promises as to how frequently I will keep everyone updated. ;)
There are many new and exciting things going on in my life right now, and most of them I never thought I would be experiencing in my life and definitely not at this exact moment. But I am more grateful than anything for these experiences I am going through. I have learned so much and grown so much already and I can't even imagine how I will continue to grow.
But one thing I have to do is thank everyone for all of their prayers and support. It all has meant so much to me and I have the strongest testimony ever on the power of prayer and Heavenly Fathers plan for me now, and I can't wait for that to continue to grow.
Today I was sitting at my desk at work reading a little book I found on another worker's desk, I didn't steal it I only borrowed it for a tiny moment, but I did find a quote I liked so here it is. . ."My philosophy is that not only
are you responsible for your life,
but doing the best at this moment
puts you in the best place for the
next moment."
It was interesting to read that at this moment in my life, and I agree with what it is saying. It is comforting to know that everyone has a part to play in their own life, but it is also their choice as to whether or not they are a background character or the main character in their own lives as well.
Anyway, I've decided recently that when it comes to my major for College that I'm currently going to pursue Sociology. I want to deal with Teens and also study substance abuse and maybe become a counselor for that. But there are many other things as well I would like to do, but right now that is the major that I feel is where I should put my effort, time, and passion. We'll see where it goes over the next few months.
Okay so this is definitely a long entry, they probably won't all be this long, but considering this is the first entry it makes sense as to why it would be long. For those of you who are sitting there trying to figure out what the name of my blog means, let me save you the trouble, that you might have already gone through looking it up, to tell you what it means. Mnemonic means "assisting or intended to assist the memory." That is my hope for my blog, that I will be able to use this to assist myself and everyone else in knowing and remembering the happenings of life. I love you all and I'm excited to keep you all updated.
